Aurea Technologies Unveils Portable Wind Turbine for Charging Devices. |
Ever thought about charging your smartphone or laptop using just the wind? Aurea Technologies has introduced a cool new gadget called Shine 2.0, a portable wind turbine designed to power up your devices using wind energy.
It’s compact, lightweight, and perfect for people who love the outdoors or need power on the go.

How Does Shine 2.0 Work?
The Shine 2.0 turbine starts generating energy when the wind speed hits 12.9 km/h. Simply set it up, and the blades will start spinning to produce power.
The whole setup, including a stand that is about a meter tall and held steady with cables, can be folded and easily packed into your backpack.
When packed, it’s only a little bigger than a water bottle and weighs around 1.4 kg.
Power Output
At its maximum, Shine 2.0 can generate up to 50 watts of power, but you'll need a wind speed of 45 km/h to reach that.
According to the developers, that’s enough to charge a laptop in about two hours. Even in lower wind speeds, the turbine can still produce almost 5 watts of power.
Plus, it has a built-in 12,000 mAh power bank, allowing you to store energy and later charge your devices through a USB-C connection, with a charging capacity of 75 watts.
Easy Monitoring with the App
Shine 2.0 comes with a companion app that connects to the turbine via Bluetooth. The app lets you monitor wind speed and track how much energy you're generating and using.
If you want even more wind power, you can purchase a 1.8-meter tripod to place the turbine higher, where the wind might be stronger.

Successful Crowdfunding
The Shine 2.0 has been a hit on Kickstarter, raising over $242,000, far surpassing its original goal of $22,000. The device is priced at $571, and it’s expected to hit the market in April 2025.
With Shine 2.0, you can harness the power of the wind wherever you go!
