Exciting news for Apple fans: all models of the iPhone 16 now support fast wired charging up to 45W via USB-C! This information comes from the Chinese Quality Certification Center, which tested the new iPhones for their market approval.

The tests revealed that all the iPhone 16 models were charged using a voltage of 5–15V and a current of 3A, achieving a maximum power of 45W. This is a significant increase compared to the iPhone 15 series, which only reached 27–29W. However, it’s important to note that 45W is the peak power—during regular use, the iPhone 16 delivers around 38W most of the time.

There had been rumors for a while about the iPhone 16 offering faster charging, but Apple didn’t comment much on it. The company did mention that MagSafe, when paired with the right power adapter, can deliver up to 25W, but it never highlighted the wired charging capabilities.

In fact, Apple hasn’t put much focus on wired charging in the past. For several years now, iPhones have supported more than 25W of charging power, but Apple only officially advertised that the iPhones could charge quickly with a 20W USB-C adapter.

With the boost to 45W on the iPhone 16 series, users can now enjoy faster charging than ever before, making it even more convenient to top up their phones throughout the day.
